Portsmouth in Bloom 2016 is now finished – Let’s Look Forward to 2017!

Huge thanks to everyone involved in Portsmouth in Bloom 2016

Sponsors, entrants, judges, volunteers – it’s only possible to run the competition with your help and contribution.

The Portsmouth in Bloom 2016 Awards

The Awards Evening was a wonderful event, held at the Victory Bar at Fratton Park. It was very well attended with lots of winners receiving their certificates from, amongst others, the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress.

We would like to thank everyone who came, all our sponsors for making the event possible, our guests and awards presenters, our judges and volunteers for making it such a terrific event. It was lovely to see so many young faces from our schools in attendance as well.

Our compere for the evening, James Alderson, conducted the event very well and ensured everything ran to time, as well as being very entertaining throughout!

David Nield of the Portsmouth Beekeepers Association gave a very good talk about bees. This swung for warnings of ecological problems if we don’t take care of our pollinating friends, to some very amusing jokes. An enlightening lecture, for which we would like to thank him very much.

And to you, the entrants whose wonderful gardens, courtyards, balconies and plots have brightened up and helped to green the City of Portsmouth once again – well done to all of you, and thank you for your contribution to the competition.

Roll on 2017!
